LG reveals new budget range smartphone line-up

LG announced four new budget smartphones that will go on sale in selected countries this week.

With much of its success coming in the mid-range market last year, HTC will be hoping for a repeat performance from the LG Joy, LG Leon, LG Spirit, and LG Magna, LG Spirit, LG Leon, and LG Joy. They range in size from 4-inches (Joy) to 5-inches (Magna). The LG Leon and LG Spirit fall in between at 4.5- and 4.7-inches respectively.

The three larger handsets will be powered by a 1.2GHz chip (3G models) or 1.3GHz quad-core chip (4G versions). The LG Magna, Spirit and Leon feature an 8 megapixel camera, though it drops to 5 megapixels on the 3G model. The Magna features the best quality front-facing camera (5MP), followed by the Spirit (1MP) and then the Leon (VGA camera).

The LG Joy is a more entry-level model. It comes with either a 1.2GHz quad-core or 1.2GHz dual-core processor, features a 5 megapixel camera on its rear, and a VGA camera on the front.

These four new LG handsets will start hitting shelves in selected countries sometime this week.
