With both Samsung and HTC having already made their move in the premium smartphone space this year, LG looks like being the next major player to step up to the plate and launch a flagship product for 2014. The company's long-rumoured G3 device, a successor to the excellent G2, is likely to be unveiled to the world on May 27th, with the company planning a series of events in six cities across the world on that date.
No details of what the events will entail have been announced, but it's expected that it'll focus on the launch of the handset, which is said to be among the highest specced devices in the space. The events will take place on May 27th in London, New York and San Francisco, and May 28th in Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul, while the invitation gives little away beyond listing the dates and city names as well as a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To be simple is to be Great" with an emboldened emphasis on the G.
All the signs point to the new handset, so consumers who've been holding off to see what LG has up its sleeves can start counting down the days until the announcement (and hopefully an awesome smartphone to rival the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8).
