LG declared that this tablet release is an effort to “expand its leadership in LTE from smartphones to tablets.” The G Pad 8.0 features an 8-inch IPS (1280 x 800 / WXGA) display, a 1.2GHz quad-core chip and 1GB RAM. It also includes 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.
Using a technology called QPair 2.0, users can connect to their smartphones with Bluetooth to answer phone calls, receive notifications, and send text messages, directly from their LG tablet. Other novel features include Touch & Shoot, which allows users focus and trigger the shutter by tapping on the screen; Gesture Shot, which allows users to start a countdown before a selfie is taken with a gesture; and Knock Code, which powers on and unlocks the device with a personalised knock pattern.
