LG has unveiled the Optimus 4X HD, which promises to pack a punch. The phone features a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3, a 4.7 inch true HD screen, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. LG is also targeting battery efficiency: certain tasks such as music playback and e-mail will be designated to a low power unit to ensure that they don’t drain the battery. Finally, the Optimus 4X HD will utilise a slightly customised version of Google’s Android 4.0.
LG’s Optimus 4X HD will be released in Europe in the second quarter of 2012, but is yet to be given a date for a North American release. The phone is set to be showcased at the upcoming MWC 2012 event in Barcelona.
