Dropbox and Microsoft are working together to make your life easier.
MS Office is a ubiquitous piece of software and its about to get even easier to use thanks to native Dropbox support. Soon you'll be able to sync the doc you're working on instantly to Dropbox, all from within the software. But that's not all, as a massive deal between the two companies will also include extra functionality.
So you'll be able to create an Office doc instantly in Dropbox and edit it natively, even on mobile. These additions will be part of an update for Office for iOS and Android in the next few weeks. Basically you'll always have access to both products, and backing docs up to the cloud will be quick and easy.
MS also owns OneDrive which offers similar functionality but by including Dropbox, a platform which many people already use, they should be able to draw more users into their space. And some of them will need to get Office 365 subscriptions.
This integration of MS Office and Dropbox will be coming to mobile in the next few weeks and will roll out to desktop in 2015.
