Microsoft said that a flagship Windows Phone wouldn’t launch until the release of Windows 10. We now know that the OS will be released on July 29th and a new phone may also be on the way.
The Microsoft Lumia 940XL’s specs have been leaked in detail by NokiaPowerUser. The site notes that it’s unsure if the name will last until the handset’s launch, but is more confident of the handset’s specs.
The new Microsoft Lumia will apparently feature a 5.7-inch QHD display, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
It will also pack a 20 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front snapper, a microSD slot. The new Lumia will have a slim, metallic unibody design.
The report also suggests that the Lumia 940XL will have iris scanning tech, and a USB-C slot. Naturally, it’s expected that this handset will come with Windows 10 preloaded.
There’s no word as to when this handset will be released. But with Windows 10 arriving on July 29th, we imagine we’ll hear official news in the near future.
