Microsoft may be developing its own smartwatch
Microsoft may be the latest company to attempt to carve out a slice of the wearable technology market with reports indicating that it is developing a smartwatch of its own.

Forbes has been tipped off that Microsoft has been working on a smartwatch that will play nice with non-Microsoft operating systems and will sync up with iPhones, Android devices and, of course, Windows Phones.

The smartwatch is reported draw upon the knowledge of Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect division in order to continuously measure heart rate. According to Forbes’ sources, the battery will last approximately two days.

Microsoft has been gearing up for an announcement that works with competing operating systems. Just last week, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the company’s software and services need to be available on all devices.

It is unclear as to when Microsoft plans to release this smartwatch. A Microsoft spokesperson would not comment on the report.
