Microsoft may unveil Windows 9 in September
Microsoft will show off what it has planned for the next version of Windows, Windows 9, at an event on September 30th, according to new reports.

A preview version will be released to developers on or just after this date, according to The Verge who reportedly spoke with sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans. This preview will show off the mini Start menu and some UI changes.

One of the bigger changes to Windows 9 is the reported removal of the Charms bar. If true, this is a move away from the touch-orientated Windows 8 operating software, which some found off-putting.

The upcoming Windows 9 release is codenamed ‘Threshold,’ and is expected to be released to the general public sometime early next year. Microsoft is expected to show off some of the key features of the Windows 9 OS at this event at the end of September.
