Long-suffering iPad owners who have had to wait seemingly forever for a decent suite of productivity tools can finally breathe out a sigh of relief as Microsoft's Office package finally made its bow for the device yesterday following more rumours, annoucements, delays and just about anything else you can think of than we care to remember.
Office for iPad is available in two separate flavours. The first, which is free to everyone, allows users to open and view compatible documents on their iPad, however editing isn't an option that's on the table. The second flavour, accessible to anyone with an Office 365 subscription, offers the full range of functionality you would expect from Microsoft Office, including editing and saving (which, let's face it, are rather important features when it comes to documents).
The software is compatible with any iPad running iOS 7 or higher, and users can install the full version on up to five devices on top of the five computers they can use as part of their Office 365 subscription, which is actually pretty awesome when you think about it!
