Microsoft's Android interface updated with new lock screen

Microsoft released an update for its Android lock screen app, Next Lock Screen, which adds new functionality to that particular screen.

The latest update lets users control music from the lock screen and pushes Hangouts, Line and Skype messages to the fore. The new update also shows MMS chats, so you’ll know at a glance if you need to get back to anyone.

Next Lock Screen is designed to save users time with quick app launch and readily accessible information. There are a variety of things that you can do with your screen still locked. Users can check messages and missed calls, display their calendar, or even connect to a conference call. Now, you can add music control and keeping up with more types of messages to the list.

While it may seem odd to use a Microsoft app on an Android device, it certainly looks like a useful app for some. Next Lock Screen is currently available from the Google Play Store.
