The surge in popularity of smartphones and tablets has seen mobile internet usage grow to make up 10% of all web activity according to reports. Sales of iPhones, iPads and other smartphones have surged in recent years, resulting in an increase in mobile web traffic from the 3.81% total traffic reported in 2010. Asia is the major source of mobile web traffic with 18.1% of the overall web traffic, but Europe and Africa has also seen notable increases. It has been reported that India is likely to see mobile internet access overtake fixed-line use by the end of this year. Currently, approximately 48% of all traffic in the country can be traced to mobile devices.
