It’s not all that surprising that Motorola is working on the Moto 360 2 smartwatch, but it may be out sooner than many might have thought.
The Bluetooth SIG website lists a new “Motorola Android Device." This confirms that it has gained its license for the connectivity technology and will be entering the final stages.
The listing doesn’t reveal too much beyond that. All it tells us is that it’s produced by Motorola, has Bluetooth 4.1, and comes with the design model number BTMW03.
We may not have too long to wait. Its predecessor, bearing the BTMW01 device number, broke cover at Google I/O. For those of you keeping track, this event will take place at the end of May this year. Interestingly, the Moto 360 also appeared on Bluetooth SIG just days before it was officially announced.
The Moto 360 2’s announcement and release may not be too far away.
