The news comes courtesy of Chinese site techweb, which claims that the watch will be 13.5mm as a result of the plastic body. This would mean that it would be chunkier than the LG G Watch (9.9mm) and the Samsung Gear Live (8.9 mm).
The same report suggests that the Moto 360 will come with wireless charging. This could also be a reason behind the extra bit of padding.
As always, it’s worth being a little bit sceptical about reports. The Moto 360 was previously shown off with a premium metal design and it was one element that really set the smartwatch apart from its competitors. We are waiting to see what Motorola has to say on the matter.
