Motorola gathered all the techeys together on a fine tuesday morning for a secret Motorola Mobility announcement which turned out to be the unveiling of their latest smartphone, the
Razr i.
As motorola's new flagship model, the
Razr i, is the first successful collaboration with
Intel in a smartphone. Unlike the not so great AZ210 released earlier in the year, the Razr i packs an impressive Intel 2 GHz CPU insideincluding 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot for expanded storage, a 4.3-inch display that runs to the edges of the handset, and the Razr line’s signature Kevlar back.
Motorola claim battery life to be 20 hours, which is "40 percent more powerful than the iPhone 4S," said Jim Wicks, head of design at Motorola Mobility. Like the Razr M, the
Razr i features an 8-megapixel camera that can shoot up to 1080p video. Unfortunately, the
Razr i also has the same PenTile display with a low 960×540 resolution.
After bring bought by internet giant Google last year for $12.5, Motorola cleverly waited until the dust cleared after the recent iPhone/WindowsNokia tornado and it looks like they may have a serious contender for the Winter market.
While there's no announcement for the States yet, the
Motorola Razr i will go on sale in select Europian and Latin American markets, including France, Germany, UK, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico this October.
