The KitKat wrapper is to undergo its biggest redesign in the bar’s 80-year history. One brand that will benefit from this promotional campaign is Google and its little known service called YouTube.
Nestlé is to produce more than 100 million specially designed packs. These will feature 72 different types of “breaks.”
One of the special wrappers will feature the words “YouTube break.” Around 600,000 KitKat wrappers will feature this particular break. Will this be enough to get people to browse YouTube while taking a break?
KitKat is celebrating its 80th anniversary, while YouTube turns 10 this year. It’s a big year for both brands.
This isn’t the first time that the two have collaborated. Google named its Android operating system 4.4 update KitKat after the chocolate bar. Chief executive of Nestle UK and Ireland, Fiona Kendrick, said that “it is really exciting to be taking the partnership to a new phase."
