New app lets Dublin's pub-goers order drinks from their table

Rather than fighting your way to the bar and hoping that you get served in a timely fashion, you will soon be able to order drinks via an app in 19 bars around Dublin.

Orderella will officially launch after the Web Summit in Dublin tonight, allowing users to order food and drinks at their table from their smartphone. 19 establishments, including Copper Face Jacks and Lillie’s Bordello, have signed up to the system.

Users of the Orderella app are able to browse the food and drinks menues, place orders and can even pay using PayPal or a credit card stored on the app. Once their order is ready, customers can pick it up or have it delivered to their table by bar staff.

The app was first launched in the U.K. in November, 2013 and is available in 130 venues, including Porterhouse in London. The company plans to launch the system in Galway, Cork and Belfast in the near future.
