New Samsung Note 7's will have a unique look to prove they're safe

The saga of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 goes ever on, as the first replacement units are starting to arrive in stores.

This major recall has been causing serious problems for the Korean tech giant but it's time to start turning the corner on the story. To that end the company is preparing to get new versions of the Note 7 into the hands of users around the world, and they want everyone to be content that their updated model is safe.

They're doing this in a number of ways, including a message on the box and the ability to pop your IMEI number into their official site to double check here. The latest piece of information suggests that the new Note 7's will also come with another telltale sign, a green battery indicator in the main display.

It's an elegant solution, not least because its easy to see but it also gets across the information that your battery is now safe. It's the first step towards rebuilding customer confidence and it's going to be a long road for Samsung.
