We may be just weeks away from getting an official look at the Nexus 9, according to new reports.
An unnamed source at an HTC manufacturing facility in Brazil has allegedly broken the news of the Nexus 9 to 4G News, stating that the tablet will be at HTC’s media event on October 8th. The source said that the tablet will utilise Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip, which will also be used in Lenovo’s 50-inch 4K Smart TV and in a Chromebook.
The Nexus 9 is tipped to feature a new 'tube-shaped' waterproof camera with a 16 megapixel sensor. It touts a smart lens, with wide-angle capabilities, and can be controlled with a smartphone app on an Android device or iPhone.
Other rumoured specs include a 9-inch 1080p HD display, 3GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage (expandable via microSD), and a 64-bit version of Google's forthcoming Android L operating system. As always, take these specs with a pinch of salt, especially as the source is completely annonymous.
