Nikon Announces Android Powered COOLPIX S810c

Nikon has just confirmed the details of their brand new point and shoot camera - theNikon COOLPIX S810c.

The new camera follows on from the S800c which was released in early February 2013 and builds on that units standout feature - a ful Android operating system on board. Nikon was the first company to put an Android camera to market, ahead of Samsung's Galaxy camera and their second effort sports improved performance in every regard.

That means Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean at launch and a larger 3.7 inch screen. And of course its still a camera, with a 12x zoom lens and a 16 MP sensor as well as full HD video recording. The Android OS plus Wi-fi functionality means you can not only edit your photos but also share them instantly and even gain access to the wealth of apps on the Google Play store.

Priced at €299, the Nikon COOLPIX S810c comes to market on April 24th 2014.
