It's no secret that Nintendo is still in the console business and that their next release is going by the codename NX. However the Japanese giant has been tight lipped on any further hardware details or even a potential release date.
A survey by Gamestop in the US has been unearthed which talks about the NX in relation to other games consoles which are set to arrive over the next several months, including the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift. In addition, it specifically asks if the consumer would be interested in buying a new Nintendo console 'in the next 12 months'.
The survey seems to be about getting an idea of the interest in a new Nintendo box and comes hot on the heels of other leaked data suggesting 60fps games support and resolutions up to 4k for video streaming. The NX could also have both a central console and handheld component, like the Wii U, and come with a sensor bar.
With the variety of leaked information coming thick and fast and total silence from Nintendo on the matter, it seems like it's only a matter of time before an official annoucement. And with that in mind it's very possible that we could see a release in Japan at least before Christmas 2016.
More as we get it.
