Shazam is basically a work of genius. Just give it a couple of seconds and it will tell you what song is currently playing, a constant source of frustration for music fans.
And now, you can use this superpower on your Mac. Just download the desktop app from the App Storeand open it when you want to get an idea of what you're listening to. Better yet, you can leave it beavering away in the taskbar, where it can listen to an identify every track as it happens.
This option can also be turned off, if you don't want it generating tags for every single slice of music you come across! Once you've got the song on screen, you can instantly get access to lyrics and music videos or go straight to the listing on the iTunes store.
No word on whether the mobile and desktop versions can interact to share tags etc.
