OnePlus One app turns camera into 50MP snapper

A new app has been released that allows the OnePlus One’s camera sensor to take 50MP photos.

The mod, which was developed by users on the XDA Forums, uses image interpolation tech to make this possible. The OnePlus One features a 13 megapixel sensor, but this new mod makes it capable of so much more. It also brings features like HDR video recording, burst shot, slow-mo video and more to the handset.

This image interpolation tech made its debut on the Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a. The app has since been ported over to the CyanogenMod 11S that the OnePlus One runs on. For more information about the Color OS Camera mod, head over to the XDA Forums.

The OnePlus One is a strong debut handset with plenty of impressive elements. OnePlus has become more lax with its selling procedure as of late, recently announcing that anyone can purchase a handset on a Tuesday. The OnePlus 2 is expected to be released later this year. Many will eagerly await the announcement regarding how the handset will be sold.
