OnePlus launched a one-week sale of its One handset last week, but has been so impressed by sales that it decided to cut the price of the device permanently.
The OnePlus One now starts at $249, a saving of $50. The company says that it has been able to scale to a much more efficient level of operation and is passing on savings to buyers.
When OnePlus teased an announcement, many expected it to be a new flagship handset. The resulting announcement was much less exciting, but at least it’s a permanent move now.
OnePlus also revealed a new partnership with Dropbox that offers users a Dropbox Pro subscription and a 64GB OnePlus One for $349. This bundle launches on June 10th, and is valid in the US, Canada and EU.
There’s good news for anyone who bought the One recently at the higher price. OnePlus will refund the difference to anyone who purchased the handset within the last 15 days at the higher price.
OnePlus is likely hoping to shift as many handsets in the near future through this promotion. It has to make room for stock of the upcoming OnePlus Two, which should be announced soon.
