After making an impressive debut with the OnePlus One, attention turned to the handset’s follow-up, which may end up being called the OnePlus 2.
Unfortunately, a report from Forbes suggests that we’ll be waiting a while to see what the company can produce. Qualcomm’s struggles with overheating issues affecting the Snapdragon 810 have been well documented and the OnePlus 2 could be delayed as a result. The OnePlus 2 has reportedly been pushed back into the third quarter of 2015.
This delay will give OnePlus more opportunities to incorporate hardware advances, work on the software, and ensure that new owners won’t experience any issues.
The other point mentioned in the report, which you’ve undoubtedly spotted by now, is that the handset could be called the OnePlus 2 rather than “OnePlus Two” as might have been expected. Digits are in, words are out.
