Panasonic looks set to make big waves with its P81 smartphone when it launches later this month, with the company releasing a new teaser trailer that highlights an incredible octa-core processor as one of the device's major selling points.
Even at the top end of the smartphone market right now, quad-core processors tend to be just about as good as it gets, so the promise of a doubling in processing power is obviously pretty big news - even if Panasonic isn't exactly known for its smartphone expertise.
It is thought that the processor in question will a MediaTek SoC, while speculation suggests that the handset will feature a full HD display and the Android operating system, but Panasonic has been incredibly quiet about the device to date, and kept its announcements to short teasers and micro promotional campaigns.
The previous smartphone released by the company is the P31, which didn't exactly prove to be a resounding success, given its limited 1.3GHz CPU and 480 x 854 pixel display.
