Play Pac-Man in Google Maps

Play Pac-Man in Google Maps

Rather than trying to pull the wool over your eyes this April Fools’ Day, Google has provided us with a distraction until the misinformation and jokes blow over. Google Maps users can play Pac-Man on the streets of their city.

To play Pac-Man via Google Maps, simply click on the icon in the bottom corner of the screen. Then you can use your keyboard to play the game. Pac-Man is available to play on desktop and on the Google Maps app.

You can take to the streets of your own neighbourhood or visit a more exotic location. Famous landmarks, such as the area around the Taj Mahal and the Arc de Triomphe, can also host a play session. Google actually added a Pac-Man marker to these locations because the areas match the original Pac-Man’s layout.

We’re expecting the game to be very popular. Pac-Man was previously playable as part of a Google Doodle in 2010 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the game. An analyst claimed that U.S. employees alone may have spent 4,819,352 hours playing this Doodle.

While the Pac-Man Doodle started as a fun distraction, it is now permanently available to play from Google’s Doodles archive.
