Sony didn’t launch its next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4, at CES so naturally it was expected that Mobile World Congress would be the time. However, a recent report suggests otherwise.
According to Xperia Blog's sources, Sony will not launch the Xperia Z4 at MWC. Instead, it will launch the eagerly anticipated handset in the summer.
Previously leaked Sony e-mails have indicated the same. An e-mail from Sony's Executive VP of Consumer Marketing, George Leon, to Sony CEO Michael Lynton outlined the planned phones for May and November, 2015. This would suggest that the Xperia Z4 will launch in May with a variant of some sort – more than likely a mini – arriving in November.
Traditionally, Sony launches its Xperia flagships at MWC in March, so we are hoping to hear some sort of major announcement from Sony. However, it looks as though we won’t be getting our hands on the Xperia Z4 until the summer.
