The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 only recently released to great acclaim but it seems there are going to be some stock shortages on the way.
Samsung has confirmed that shipments of the new phablet have been delayed. Apparently this is so the company can perform some additional tests to make sure the devices meet their strict quality control levels.
Reuters speculates that the delay could be due to reports of battery issues in early handsets which have been having explosive side effects. That's certainly something the company would want to investigate before the problem rolls out worldwide.
The Note 7 is already in high demand and additional shortages could cause consumers to take their business elsewhere. There are plenty of competitors waiting to take Samsung's place at the top of the smartphone market and while this issue along won't topple them it's certainly less than idea for the South Korean tech giants.
