While the handset was unveiled a month ago, Samsung didn’t announce when it would hit shelves on this side of the world. That issue has been cleared up and Samsung fans only have to wait a week to get the chance to purchase it. However, Samsung still hasn’t announced how much it will retail for.
The Galaxy S5 mini will have a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera. Those who pick up the S5 mini won’t get quite the same specs as the full size model, but will get their hands on much of the technology, including a fingerprint scanner, heart rate monitor and water and dust proofing.
Samsung also announced that the Samsung Galaxy Young 2 will be released a week later. This handset is a more entry-level model and features a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3.5-inch 320 x 480 display and a 3 megapixel camera.
