Apple handsets have been proudly bearing a colour called 'rose gold' for a few years now, and Samsung wants some of that action.
The Korean tech company has introduced a new colour option for its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones, and they're calling it pink gold. That's just about far enough away from Apple's naming convention though let's be honest here - all of the phones are pink!
Apparently, the colour was chosen because it looks natural and "these hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces." So it has absolutely nothing to do with the popularity of the shade in handsets from your main rival for smartphone dominance.
Pink gold joins the ranks of equally ridiculously named colours Black Onxy (black), Gold Platinum (that's gold), White Pearl (white!) and Silver Titanium (just silver, fellas!). The new shade will be available first in Korea in April 2016 and should arrive elsewhere in the coming months.
