Samsung’s next flagship tablet will supposedly be thinner than Apple’s iPad Air 2, which is just 6.1mm thick.
The Galaxy Tab S2, according to SamMobile, will be thinner than the iPad Air 2 and will feature a metal frame to make it feel even more premium. It’s all about bragging rights, and you can be sure that Samsung will milk the fact that its tablet is thinner than Apple’s for all that it’s worth.
The device will reportedly be available in two sizes: 8-inch and 9.7 inch. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S, is available as an 8.4- or 10.5-inch model. Samsung may still steer clear of widescreen displays, instead using the 4:3 screen ratio for its tablets.
It’s as yet unknown when the next editions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be released. This is actually the first rumour we’ve heard about the tablet, so it could be a while off. It will be interesting to see if Samsung can shave precious inches off its tablets and how Apple will respond in kind.
