Samsung purging Galaxy S6 of bloatware

Samsung purging Galaxy S6 of bloatware

Storage space on mobile devices is precious, so you may be glad to hear that Samsung’s eagerly anticipated Galaxy S6 will come with just a handful of pre-installed Samsung apps.

Some of the chosen apps that get to keep their place on the Galaxy S6 include Samsung's S Voice and S Health, according to SamMobile. Third-party apps such as Facebook, Microsoft's One Drive and One Note apps, and Skype also get to stay. There will be a few other select apps, while users will be able to find a download link for WhatsApp once they boot up their phone for the first time.

Those who have used Samsung phones in the past will know that this shortlist is in stark contrast to the pages of apps pre-installed on other handsets. This bloatware purge along with the speed and performance enhancements built into Android 5.0 Lollipop could result in a much-improved user experience.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S6 at a special event on March 1st, just ahead of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Pre-installed apps on Samsung Galaxy S6:

S Voice

S Health
