With the launch of Apple's iPhone 6 Plus, the phablet war has truly begun.
First essayed by Samsung with their Note range beginning in 2011, the popularity of tablets and the increasing power of phablets means that customers are more willing than ever to opt for a larger handset that could replace their entire mobile arsenal. The Note has been a big seller for Samsung, but it seems Apple has a blockbuster on their hands with the iPhone 6 Plus.
And Samsung isn't going to take that lying down. According to a report from The Korea Times, they're planning on bringing the release date of the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 4 forward to give Apple some serious competition. Originally slated to go on general release in mid October, the international launch is said to now be aiming for September 26th.
That puts it right in line with the launch of the Apple iPhone 6 in Ireland and there's no doubt many phablet fanswill be happy to have a choice in their plus sized handsets. And you can also expect more slightly questionable marketing from Samsung.
We'll have more news on the Galaxy Note 4 release date soon.
