Samsung reportedly set to compete with Oculus Rift
If there’s a product category, Samsung wants to be a part of it, it seems. The latest reports indicate that Samsung is developing its own version of the Oculus Rift.

According to a report from Engadget, Samsung has already shipped prototypes to developers. It differs from other virtual reality headsets that we’ve seen as, rather than connecting to a PC or console, it links to a Galaxy phone.

Don’t expect to get your hands on a headset very soon though. According to the report, it will require the power of next-gen, unannounced Galaxy phones and tablets. On the bright side, Samsung is aiming to beat Facebook's Oculus Rift and Sony's Project Morpheus to market and could come with a lower price tag.

There’s not much information on the project at the moment and, naturally, Samsung isn’t commenting on rumours.
