Samsung to reveal what caused Note 7 to catch fire

Samsung is close to revealing what caused a number of the company’s highly anticipated Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to burst into fire, according to an article from Reuters.

Samsung is expected to release its official report regarding the Galaxy Note 7 sometime next week, but a source told Reuters that the smartphone’s battery had been identified as the main cause of the fiery fault.

Samsung initially recalled around 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones back in September following the first instances of it catching fire.

However, after new Galaxy Note 7s with batteries from a different supplier continued to catch fire, the company was forced to permanently discontinue the model and lost $5.2 billion in profit over three quarters.
