Samsung unofficially confirms the Galaxy Note 5 launch

It’s a case of reading between the lines here. But Samsung may have just unofficially confirmed when it will launch the Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung explained that Samsung Pay was delayed from July to September during its investor conference call. Executive Rhee In Jong said that the payment system will debut in the US and South Korea along with Samsung's next high-end mobile device.

This would indicate that both Samsung Pay and the Galaxy Note 5 are due for an unveiling in September. Previously, it was only speculated that the handset would make an appearance at IFA 2015.

The delay of Samsung Pay opens the door for Android Pay to render the payment system redundant. Google says that its payment app is coming “soon.”

One thing that Samsung Pay will have going for it will be that it will be pre-loaded on Samsung phones, which removes the need to visit the Play Store in the first place to search for payment apps.

Stay tuned for more Galaxy Note 5 news as its unveil date gets closer.
