Samsung is being tipped to launch its first round smartwatch, the Gear A, alongside the Galaxy Note 5 later this year at IFA.
While Samsung never revealed when it planned to launch the device, SamMobile’s sources say it’s being delayed until the second half of the year. This delay will let the hype over the Apple Watch die down and will allow Samsung to follow a proper time table with its product launches.
The Gear A is expected to feature a rotating bezel ring, which will allow wearers to interact and navigate it. Aside from this, little else is known about the smartwatch.
It recently started inviting developers to sign up to get their hands on the developer preview SDK. No release date or details were given.
Samsung has typically launched its smartwatches with flagship smartphones, so it would make sense for the Gear A to arrive alongside the Galaxy Note 5.
