Sky lets you display photos on your big screen

Sky updated its iOS and Android Sky+ app with a brand new feature, which lets users display photos stored on their smartphone or tablet on their TV.

The update is available on both Google Play and iTunes and is free to download. You will need your compatible Sky+HD box connected to your home broadband connection, and your device needs to be on the same network. Once those components are in place, Sky says that displaying photos is as easy as tapping an icon in the application.

Aside from streaming photos to your TV, the Sky+ app can also be used to record TV shows; find shows that you’ve missed and download them to your Sky+ box; get recommendations of shows to watch; and use your device as a remote control.

The Sky+ app is free to download. Expect another update in the near future. Currently, iPhone 6 Plus users running iOS8.1 are experiencing some issues.
