Microsoft released a new update for its Skype app, which will give Windows Phone users the ability to draw pictures and send them to friends.
To access this exclusive feature from the Windows Phone app, tap the “+” symbol in the chat window and select “drawing.” It’s a fairly rudimentary tool, but it’s always nice to have new ways to communicate. Skype suggests that this feature could be used to indicate the quickest route on a Bing map, for example, as well as for more comedic purposes.
The new Skype update also adds HD screen support and lets users sign in with their native Skype accounts instead of linking to their Microsoft Accounts. Users can also now sign in automatically using the Microsoft account linked to their Windows Phone device. Finally, Skype reports that its app is now quicker on Windows Phone 8.1.
