Snapchat adds stickers for popular locations

Snapchat adds stickers for popular locations
Snapchat is combining two features, location and stickers, as part of a new secret sticker test.

Special stickers are ‘unlocked’ when users send messages via the iOS app from certain geographic locations. For example, Snapchat users who use the service in Brooklyn, New York can apply a clear filter with the word ‘Brooklyn,’ while those in New York’s financial district get a special filter with dollar bills raining from the sky.

Snapchat has been working with brands to add their logo to images or videos for specific events, but these new filters enable users to take control and do something different with their snaps. Who knows, users may soon be making their way to certain retail chains just so they can unlock and use a novel sticker. This may be a way for Snapchat to start making some real money.
