Snapchat is coming to Windows Phone

Snapchat will be making its way to Windows Phone, according to the official Snapchat support account on Twitter.

An annoyed Windows Phone owner asked why the app isn’t on the OS. The account initially confirmed that Snapchat isn't currently available on Windows Phone right now. But it added that there are plans to make it so.

The account wrote, “There are plans to make it available in the future, we'll give deets when that's close. Hope this helps! :)".

Up to now, Windows Phone users have had to make do with third-party apps that use the Snapchat servers. These apps were recently removed from the Windows Phone Store. It seems too late for this to be related to Snapchat security concerns, which could indicate that Snapchat will arrive on Windows Phone soon.

This is the closest thing to confirmation that Snapchat is coming to Windows Phone. The Snapchat support account has since gone quiet and Microsoft hasn’t released a statement about the app’s arrival.

We’d expect more news in the near future.
