Sony Mobile has been putting out plenty of handsets to market over the last few years and 2016 could that lineup being streamlined.
A rumour is circulating that Sony could launch only two handsets in 2016, with all of their attention focussed on this pair of flagships. The report suggests that both phones could sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which will be a popular chip for the fastest phones this year.
Sony's mobile division will be skipping CES 2016 but the first handset could arrive by June with the second potentially on the market in October. Less premium models is always a good idea, giving consumers a little time to breathe between major updates, and this could be a solid move from Sony, provided the rumours turn out to be true.
Either way, no handets were talked about at CES, we'll have to wait until Mobile World Congress in February for more information.
