Sony Xperia Ear digital assistant up for pre-order in Ireland now

The Sony Xperia Ear was unveiled a few months back, and now it's ready to make its pre-order debut in Ireland. Just pop over to the Sony Mobile store where you can nab it for €199, and you'll get a €50 voucher to spend on anything else in the store.

The Ear is an in-ear personal assistant which keeps you up to date with everything you need - from running through the top news stories and weather in the morning to sending out reminders for calendar events. It's all done through voice, without having to even glance at your phone.

Together with the learning software of the Sony Agent technology you can just talk to the Ear to start a call or reply to a message with your voice. The sleek design fits snugly into your ear and simple touch controls let you make the most of its features on the go.

Sony has created a series of mini docs to show off the power of the Xperia Ear.

Tom Oxley, portrait photographer, based in London, said: “As a photographer, I like to be aware of the world around me and I found it a liberating feeling not being tied to a smartphone. I was able to travel and work around the city, knowing Xperia Ear would remind me of my schedule and messages.”

Xperia Ear starts shipping from mid-November 2016 - all pre-orders will receive a voucher for €50 discount on any smartphone purchased from the Xperia Store online.
