We don't know a lot about Sony Mobile's official plans for 2016 but the rumour mill is in high gear with possible news.
On the one hand, we've heard that the company would be focussing on just two premium handsets for the year ahead but that's not the only news which is circulating. Other rumours are suggesting four or five new smartphones will be released in 2016, which would be more in keeping with the traditions of the company.
One of those handsets could be the Xperia Z6 Lite, a variant on the as-yet-unannounced flagship model. It's like to sport a 5 inch display and include a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragono 650 chip which would make it a slightly less powerful device. And that comes with a fairly competitive price point of under $400.
This is all just speculation at the moment and we'll have to wait a little longer for any official news as Sony Mobile has skipped CES this year. Expect more info around Mobile World Congress in February.
