While smartwatches are getting a little more fashionable, some people are finding it difficult to replace their traditional watch with such a wearable. But there’s a start-up, MainTool, that wants to make it possible to turn any watch into a smartwatch.
MainTool’s strap replaces that of your traditional watch, making it smarter and giving you more functionality. It lets your watch monitor your heart rate, get notifications through personalised vibrations, track your steps, monitor your sleep, and even reject phone calls.
A small sensor that sits under the watch and on top of your wrist makes all of this possible. There’s also a connected app that makes your stats easy to check and keep tabs on. This app will let you review your data so you can see if you’re staying on the straight and narrow.
A release date is yet to be announced, though MindTool seems to be hoping that it’ll be out by Christmas. Provided it isn’t the strap of your watch that you’re attached to, this could be the perfect way to make your watch a bit more functional.
