Apple CEO Tim Cook is dripfeeding more details about the Apple Watch. He visited one of the company's flagship stores in Berlin and said that he has been wearing his in the shower.
This statement provokes more questions than it answers, though. Apple hasn’t revealed if the watch will be IP56 water and dust resistant or even IP67 water and dust proof. It’s also unclear whether water resistance will apply to all Apple Watch models or if there are even some straps that you shouldn’t wear in the shower. Even if the Apple Watch isn’t completely waterproof, there are some accessories in development to allow users to bring it into wet environments.
Cook also said that he takes his Apple Watch off every night so that he can recharge it. We had previously heard that it would need to be charged every day. At the same time, it’s a little disappointing that smart watches are struggling to last long.
