TV ad highlights iPhone 5s' fitness uses
A new ad titled ‘Strength’ shows off the iPhone 5s’ purpose as a fitness and health tracker.

The ad follows a group of iPhone users as they work out, kicking off at some ungodly hour in the morning, and how they track their activity. The group uses a combination of apps and accessories to keep tabs on what they’ve done and to monitor their fitness levels and metrics.

The majority of the devices shown in the ad, including the Zepp golf sensor and the Adidas miCoach smart ball, are available from Apple's store. Of course, this ad also leads the charge for iOS 8 and its revealed HealthKit side.

Apple is clearly planning to attack the fitness side of smart devices with gusto in the near future, a segment of the smartphone market that Samsung has been tapping into for some time. And just so the point is clear, the ad is set to the soundtrack of Robert Preston's "Chicken Fat.”
