Twitter's year in review - 2015 full of characters

Twitter has revealed its year in review, and the most significant hashtags have been put together in an emotional video - check out the cameo for Ireland's marriage equality vote at 1.45!

Elsewhere they've also put together a list of the most influential moments throughout the year, including the tag BlackLivesMatter, and two emotional days for Paris PrayForParis and JeSuisCharlie. Other major events included our own HomeToVote movement as Irish people from around the world travelled back to make sure that the vote for marriage equality was carried through.

The most retweeted people on Twitter were pretty familar folks this year, with the top five featuring four of the lads from One Direction - Niall Horan missed out but Barack Obama made it in, maybe they should look at a new lineup. Leonard Nimoy's last ever tweet also featured highly.

See the full breakdown here, and don't forget to tweet!
