UberX celebrates Dublin launch with free journeys
To celebrate the arrival of the weekend and the launch of uberX, a cheaper way of getting around, all uberX journeys will be free in Dublin this weekend.

Whether you’ve used Uber in the past or you’re signing up for the first time, you will be eligible for the free uberX trips this weekend. There are some conditions to be aware of: trips are free up to €25 per journey. If you exceed this, the extra amount will be charged to your account. In addition, you can only avail of five free trips per account.

Uber says that the service is typically 10-30% cheaper than hailing a non-Uber taxi. It lists prices such as €13 + toll to get from Dublin City Centre to Dublin Airport and €11 to go from Dundrum to Stephen’s Green.

Uber previously launched the UberBLACK service to ferry people around Dublin in class and style, but uberX is aimed at those who want to get from point A to point B in the cheapest and most convenient way possible.

To avail of uberX:

Open up the Uber app and slide across to your new option at the bottom of the screen.

Set your pickup location for uberX

Request and go!

If you’re new to Uber:

Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android

Request an uberX from the slider at the bottom of the app

Enjoy your FREE trips!
