The Mobile Virtual Network Operator agreement will see UPC add mobile to its list of services, which currently includes broadband, television and home phone services. According to CEO of UPC Ireland, Magnus Ternsjo, this is a great opportunity for the company and predicts that Three will be a great network partner.
Ternsjo said, “This is a strategic and exciting agreement which gives UPC the opportunity to provide another extraordinary product to consumers with the launch of mobile and to become a fully-fledged quad-play services provider.”
The news follows in the wake of Three getting the green light to acquire O2 Ireland. Under the terms of this acquisition, Three have to provide services to two new Mobile Virtual Network Operators; UPC is one such operator.
